Allergic to DEET?
For those who are allergic to DEET or products containing DEET, the following tick repellants might be tried. However, their effectiveness against Ixodes ticks has not been established in all cases:
- Repel Brand (oil of lemon eucalyptus).
- Repel Permanone (permethrin) – for use on clothing only.
- Avon Skin So Soft (Bayrepel, IR 3535) :appears to be very effective.
- BioUD (undecanone).
- Natrapel (citronella).
